Scottsville's Rhythm on the River Concert Series Performances the 1st Sunday June, July and August at 6:00 pm in Dorrier Park, Scottsville. Enjoy our 'outdoor theater on the James', enjoy a picnic dinner or partake of a variety of foods offered by vendors. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, sit back, relax and enjoy the music, festivities and neighbors. This year's line-up includes: June: Sons of Bill and Hackensaw Boys July: Ron Johnson and Jackass Flats August: Big Enough Band and Lawrence Elder September: Jangling Reinharts and Terri Allard
2008 Batteau Festival Wednesday, June 18 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Scottsville Riverfront and Canal Basin Square, East Main Street, Scottsville Travel back to a time when the batteau was king. These flat-bottom boats transported goods to Richmond via the Kanawa Canal. Boats arrive in Scottsville around 3:00 p.m. Earlier if the river is high and later if it is low. Festival events include music, crafts, food and more.
Farmers' Markets The Scottsville-on-the-James Farmers' Market is now open every Thursday through October from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., under the tent at Dorrier Park, next to the James River Bridge.
